So in my last post I posted about the different types of weed I have tried; and how I am working at trying as many different types of weed that I possibly can. Well this time we got New York Sour Diesel and Sour Grape. Yay 2 more "flavors"

First I am going to talk about New York Sour Diesel. NYCD, as they call it, is the baby of Sour Diesel and some Afghan Indica. I liked it. It was earthy and has a pretty good high. For me, it wasn't as smooth as the Grape Ape. It made me cough a couple times and burned my throat a little, but the high was worth it. The top reasons NYCD is recommended is because its potency and its effect. Most people have commented that it makes you feel euphoric. Medically, the strain is great for stress, anxiety, and pain. My only downside NYCD is the dry mouth and eyes. This has definitely left me with more cotton mouth than my other strain travels. I make sure to have water with me, for sure. I do recommend at least trying this strain though, because the high was pretty damn good. The bud looks AMAZING! It is long and lean and full of crystals. Breathtakingly beautiful!

Stay tuned the next few days for my other blog about Sour Grape. yum
Craig Ferguson hosts his late night talk show more like he’s hanging out at home than on a national television show. It is this sense of informality that is most endearing and sets guests at ease quickly.

The history of The Late Late Show in a nutshell… From 1995-1999, the late night talk show was hosted by Tom Snyder, who ran it like an intimate interview show. Snyder was a veteran newsman instead of the usual late night comedian. After he left in 1999, Craig Kilborn took over The Late Late Show hosting duties. The show reformatted to match other late night talk shows and included clips from Kilborn’s The Daily Show days. In 2004, Kilborn left and series of guest hosts took over until Craig Ferguson became permanent host in 2005.

I will say right now that Craig Ferguson is not for everyone. His comedy relies heavily on the random and somewhat strange, with a good deal of cursing. The show starts out with a two minute cold start which features Ferguson talking to audience members, performing skits – sometimes with puppets, sing and dancing, or some other comedic bit. After the most catchy theme song on late night television, Craig begins his monologue. Unlike other hosts that come out and tell jokes, Ferguson comes off more as a comedic rant than the usual old stand-up routine.

<img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-FPX7w3vah0M/TzvUIY1buaI/AAAAAAAAAa8/DcX75IxmmKo/video8d59f0ad18f8%25255B25%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('07c66ac8-f13d-4fdc-81b7-e526f4434691'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "

";" alt="">

In 2010, there was an addition to the Late Late Show family. Geoff Petterson became Craig Ferguson’s sidekick and the very first robot sidekick in late night television. Designed by Grant Immarhara of the Mythbusters, Geoff is an animatronic robot with electric blue eyes and a metal mohawk. The duo work off each other like an old married couple, which is convenient as they were married in Las Vegas for Geoff’s one year birthday.

Geoff is voiced by comedian Josh Thompson. Josh is one of the best impersonators you will ever find with a wit and ability to think on his feet that is unseen anywhere these days. The best moments on The Late Late Show come in the form of Craig and Geoff’s banter, which is mostly unscripted.

<img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-16GnZ4rT5Lg/TzvUIuzOAkI/AAAAAAAAAbE/QCsfpSlavyM/video6e2234b7b0f4%25255B25%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('ea589012-6676-4160-ae15-875f2e2e60bc'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "

";" alt="">

Craig Ferguson has no delusions about who he is, and often makes jokes referring to himself as the ‘immigrant in the basement’ of CBS. This attitude gives way to a more open and laid back feeling. The interview portions are very entertaining because of the laid back attitude. Guests come in and feel relaxed and tend to seem more honest and real. The downside of the interview portions is that the guests tend to be lesser stars or newbies, but that does mean they are any less entertaining.

Craig Ferguson himself is almost an inspiration. A recovering alcoholic of fifteen years, Ferguson managed to straighten up his act and become a successful entertainer. One of his proudest moments is when he recently became an American citizen.

The bottom line is this, The Late Late Show is silly, crass, with a lot of sexual innuendos and jokes. The budget is pretty low compared to other talk shows, so some of the bits do seem cheesy. Luckily, the humor overshadows most of the money issues. The Late Late Show runs like a buddy comedy between Craig Ferguson and Geoff Peterson, and that relaxed feeling does come through in the appeal of the show. The humor is not for everybody, but as Ferguson mentions often, he knows his demographic (the stoners). I DVR it every night and never miss an episode and urge everyone of you to give The Late Late Show a shot. Unique programming like this does not come along too often anymore.
Duhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06856100921719523176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776197937641553.post-43501388837626504852012-02-10T08:17:00.001-08:002012-02-10T08:17:28.986-08:00If Only I Could Afford Sasquatch Tix
So I have lived in Washington state for about three years now, give or take. There are many reasons I was excited to move out here, with escaping the Midwest topping the list. Music and culture were also on that long list.

Since moving out here, I have never actually been inside the Seattle Art Museum, just the lobby and restrooms. There have been no plays or theatre performances in my time here. What kills me the most, is the lack of music experiences in my life. Forget about the EMP Museum in Seattle, or any of the billions (it seems) of different musical fests going on. I have never even been to concert in the last three years!

Woe is me, I know. The one concert festival that really makes me upset I'm broke is Sasquatch. For those of that don't know yet, Sasquatch is a four day concert festival held at The Gorge Ampitheatre in George, Washington. This area is perfect for camping, and if you want to see this awesome show you will be shelling out over $300 for a four day pass. Then you throw in extra fees (parking, camping, gas, etc...) and this is a pretty pricey show.

What do you get for all this cash? Headliners include Jack White and Beck. I like Beck, but the real push here is Jack White. The man is talented as all get up and this is supporting his first ever solo album. Have you heard the new single, Love Interruption?

I really like it. It has the bluesy sound we have come to expect from Jack White, but reminds me of The White Stripes era. What do you guys think?

The rest of the Sasquatch 2012 lineup can be found at their official site. Bands of note so far are Tenacious D, The Shins, The Roots, Silversun Pickups, Feist, Of Monsters and Men, fun., Grouplove, and so many more.

Duhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06856100921719523176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776197937641553.post-57825408790665228832012-02-08T14:58:00.000-08:002012-02-08T15:06:59.632-08:00My Strain TravelsSharkey here! As most of you know I am pretty new in the stoner realm, so I am trying to learn as much as I can. I didn't realize there were SOO many different strains of weed out there! Its crazy to me! However it leaves me like a kid in a candy store wanting to try everything at least once!

I have tried purple kush, afghan kush, and most recently grape ape. Grape ape is the bomb! If you have never had it you have to go find yourself some. Grape Ape is a higher potency than the others I have had recently, so the effects last longer. I like it because it is really smooth. I have yet to cough from the grape ape like I have from others. Other people have said that it knocks them out, but I haven't had that problem with it. Since it is good for anxiety, muscle aches and pain, I was excited to give it a try. I have been super stressed lately with a lot going on and this really relaxed me and made me feel at peace.

I would be content to stick with grape ape the rest of my life; but in the spirit of things, I will still be branching out and trying new strains. I will let you know what else I come across but in the meantime - Go get you some Grape Ape!Sharkeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12677349256523932695noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776197937641553.post-68669552029447920092012-02-05T20:13:00.000-08:002012-02-06T10:40:25.625-08:00February Contest: Zombie PrizeSo for the month of January our free giveaway was a copy of the horror ebook Fresh Flesh by Todd Russell. Our Quirky Guide to Seattle - FREE eBook for the Amazon Kindle. I am not sure how long it is free. I just came across it a little while ago. If you are in the area, or ever plan on being in the area, why not pick it up? I already did and I can't wait to use it. Reviews look decent, but who knows with them sometimes.
So I went to Google and found numerous videos on how to roll a joint. The one I am posting is the one that I found the most informative and so I figured I would post it for you as well! I will be a pro in no time!

<img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-HUR2oEDWH4g/Tx3fJ8hJ2ZI/AAAAAAAAAY8/iesOgF8UmCc/video34c8de901a7c%25255B19%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="border-style: none" galleryimg="no" onload="var downlevelDiv = document.getElementById('60bfec91-e372-4efe-8d3b-62635b4079e2'); downlevelDiv.innerHTML = "

";" alt="">

High Times: How to Roll a Joint

Duhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06856100921719523176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776197937641553.post-77997717817515966842012-01-22T06:49:00.001-08:002012-01-22T06:49:29.952-08:00Video of the Day | Taco Del Rio FIGHT!!

So sitting here with the boyfriend this morning watching Tosh and he played this video clip of the Taco Del Rio fight and it is hilarious! So we went on a video search and found that they had a couple different angles from inside the restaurant and we decided to post all the angles for Video of the Day today! My favorite part is when the guy in the brown shirt runs head into the counter at the end! This dark force threatens to steal the souls of those living within its grasp. Once again, this force returns in 2012 with scary monsters and even scarier guests. Crypticon is the annual horror convention that takes place in Seattle every year. This year promises to be even more awesome than the past (mostly cause I will be there). Check out the official trailers for Crypticon 2012.

The music legend Etta James has passed away due to complications from leukemia, CNN reported a few moments ago. The soulful singer was 73. Through a life of hardships, addiction, and health problems, Etta managed to win Grammys, be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and bring pleasure to millions of people with her one of a kind voice.
I believe that most people will do whatever they can to better themselves, at the cost of almost anyone else. This lack of trust is an issue that I am trying to work on as it has not been helpful to my life at all, well not as far as I can tell. Some of you may know this, but overcoming trust issues is not an easy thing to do. Add in the fact that as a writer, and a bit of a loner anyways, I spend the majority of time at home with my girlfriend and my Sam Dogg; and we have us a recipe for some long-standing trust issues.

I tell myself that thanks to my constant online activity, the lack of a social life is not detrimental to me all that much. I am wrong. I don’t know for a fact that I am wrong, but I am pretty gosh darn sure that I am. Sure, I talk to people and have friends, but can we say that any of that online interaction is really helping me deal with my distrust in the human race as whole? No.

How can it? I don’t have to really trust anybody because I have no reason to really rely on people over the internet. Recently there have been a handful of creatives that have let me down online, so apparently my interactions have the complete opposite effect on my trust issues. That was, until last week…

I was bouncing around one of my new favorite time wasting sites one day, Reddit.com (/r/zombies to be exact). We were talking a little about The Zombie Survival Guide when someone brought up the Newsflesh trilogy. I informed this Reddit user that I have never read the Newsflesh trilogy, but I will check it out whenever I can afford a reader. I hit submit and clicked away from Reddit, happily going about my business and forgetting all about the exchange.

A little bit later I went back to kill some more time at Reddit and noticed I had a message. This account is new, so a message is still exciting. I opened it and almost had to change my pants right then and there. The Redditor that informed me of the Newsflesh trilogy had offered to give me his old Kindle 3 3G!

Bullshit, I says! No, shit. Totally true guys.

Apparently he had bought it for himself, but then received a Kindle Fire for Christmas. The Kindle 3 was just extra battery life, so he offered to send it to me. I figured there was a catch somewhere, so I responded back something to the effect of how great that would be, but expecting a sales pitch to come back.

After a few back and forth messages, I gave him my address. ‘You did what?!’ I’m a dude and broke, so I wasn’t too worried about this person doing anything or robbing me. I could not really fathom any reason that this person would be lying, other than just to entertain himself for a moment. I was informed the next day that it was in the mail.

So I wait. I would love to tell you that I had totally forgotten about it, but that would be a lie. In the back of my mind, that is all I thought about. I tried to think of every conceivable reason why this Reddit user would be messing with me like this. Was he going to try to rob me? There are four people and a zoo in this house with little worth stealing. That did not seem a very likely scenario. Murder? Ummm... This isn’t CSI or something. No, there was no reason that I could think of.

Then one day a box is delivered to my door. It is a taped up Harley Davidson Doc Marten shoe box. Paranoia seeps in for a moment, or maybe it was the bowl I just smoked, and I suddenly though ‘Bomb’. I grab something close to me, a nail file I believe, and slowly cut open the tape. Once I was sure that I was acting stupid, I open the box to find some canned chili, noodles, ramen, and an Amazon Kindle 3 3G with a leather case.

I have thanked the Reddit user many times, and he swears he wants nothing in return. All he told me to do is ‘Pay it forward’. That I will do. Thank you, Reddit user. You have helped restore a slight bit of faith back into the human race for this stoner.
Duhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06856100921719523176noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776197937641553.post-2587474530310945892012-01-19T20:46:00.000-08:002012-01-19T20:46:25.180-08:00Video of the Day | Monster Marijuana 2010
For today's very late Video of the Day, I found this short vid of some big ass plants. I finally sat down and watched one of the most famous propaganda movies of all time - Reefer Madness. Shortest review ever - great! Reefer Madness
is a hilarious romp through the paranoid and uneducated minds of 1930's America. If you have ever picked up a joint or hit a bowl, chances are you have at least heard, if not seen, this now cult classic.

Made in 1936 as an anti-marijuana propaganda film, Reefer Madness portrays marijuana users as sex crazed and violent drug fiends, on par with the likes of heroin and other hard drug users. The story tells a tale of seedy drug pushers in business suits hunting high school children to get hooked. They bring these kids to Mae's apartment, one of the pushers though she prefers to sell to adults.

This marijuana den is a non-stop party for young and old alike. This good Christian film takes a turn for the decidedly dark when one of the pushers - and marijuana addict - attempts to rape one of the high school girls. This attempted rape causes a chain reaction of events, including a murder, that ends with one man's permanent insanity.

These marijuana smokers also commit hit and runs and have sex like it's the 1970's. To add to the truth of this film, the filmmakers (I use that term loosely) add in accounts of marijuana users ax murdering their families and having group sex. These filmmakers were a church group that made this film to educate parents on the dangers of marijuana use.

To be completely honest, as extreme as these claims are, they are not much more out there than some recent claims.

We all know that marijuana kills brain cells, right? And that was found to be completely true:

Of course, if you don't care about your brain, you have to care about your country...

Both of these claims are untrue, of course. Video one explains itself and any search on marijuana production shows that it is such a widely grown crop domestically that importing would just be too expensive to supply the entire country.

Another great similarity to today's War on Drugs is the importance of protecting the kids. The original title of the film was Tell Your Children and geared at parents. A big chunk of arguments by today's anti marijuana voices want to keep it illegal to protect the children, which is a flimsy argument as well. But I digress...

I definitely suggest watching Reefer Madness
and maybe even picking up a copy cheap somewhere to show around. It is a great film for a night of tokin' and munchin'.Duhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06856100921719523176noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776197937641553.post-83828646518523696102012-01-18T11:34:00.000-08:002012-01-18T11:34:02.615-08:00Video of the Day | D-Loc - Look at Me Now (Remix) (aka Rolling Papers)For today's video fo the day, I have a brand new video that just debuted this morning over on BallerStatus.com. I have watched Super Troopers numerous times even before I became a stoner. It’s a pretty funny movie sober but its hilarious high! There are things you just can appreciate as much about the movie sober! I guess its one of those things like when you buy a red car then you realize how many other red cars there are around you, or how you never noticed exactly how many slug bugs there are on the road until you get hit for them? Well I realized some things I never noticed about weed until I became a smoker! So I sat down and watched Super Troopers with the bf and noticed in the opening scene that there are 3 different bags of weed used for the opening scene! I am posting the 3 different pictures from the opening scenes below.

In the first picture is where they are being pulled over and they are trying to get rid of the weed so he is handing it back to the kid in the backseat, in this picture the weed looks to be about a quarter and it looks ground up

Here in the second scene is when the cop is at the window showing them the bag they threw out the window, first off the bag is thinner looking (the other looks like a regular ziploc bag) plus they are buds; they aren't ground up.

The third picture is when Mac is speeding by so they zoom out the camera angle and you can see the cop still holding the bag of weed and it is once again in a ziploc looking baggie; however, it is a lot less than the first scene, the last scene looks more like an eighth.

I have NEVER noticed this the 10 times I watched the movie before I started smoking weed. Now it seems like anything weed related jumps at me. Stay tuned more Go Sharkey posts to come.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04100058253181136802noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8192776197937641553.post-39035330070948007402012-01-14T13:24:00.000-08:002012-01-14T13:24:25.935-08:00FREE Kindle Book - Amador Lockdown

I love free apps. I love my hometown of Kenosha and I especially love my good friend Donovan Scherer of Ratatat graphics. His book series, Fear and Sunshine, is a fun story about a little hippie girl named Sunshine and a mad scientist. Sunshine learns that she is heiress to a great monster making dynasty and begins her life learning the trade. During one of her and the doc’s experiments, an accident occurs and ZomBeans are created. These terrible, undead beans can only be destroyed by flinging brains at them.

This is the story behind the addictive little app my buddy Don made. It is free to download, so check out ZomBeans. For today’s video, I bring you Fear and Sunchine Presents: ZomBeans…
